The GBC is currently working on the following initiatives. If you wish to provide support a specific initiative through monetary donations, trade skills, volunteer labor, or machinery or expertise, please contact us. Every dollar and every hour volunteered puts us closer to completing these important objectives.
Cultural Art Center Initiative (Phase 2)
Location: Cultural Center next to the Greenville Library
Description:
Stablization of the building from effects of weather completed (phase 1). Currently working on grants for rehabilitation of the building and organizing a community meeting for discussion of uses of the space (Phase 2).
Benefits:
• Preserves landmark building and visual character of the town
Status: 5% Complete
Mainstreet Initiative
Location: Town Hall, Veteran's Park, Vanderbilt Park
Description:
Installation of decorative street lamps, benches and planters.
Benefits:
• Enhancement of public spaces.
Status: 80% Complete

Vanderbilt Park South Barn Renovation & Conversion
(A Community Partners Project)
Location: Vanderbilt Park
Description:
Renovation by Community Partners of the South Barn involves light woodwork and painting to replace existing trim. Conversion of the East carriage extension of the barn into an open air pavilion involves removal of siding, removal of second floor, application of a new floor, and trimming of new openings.
Benefits:
• Creates a new shelter space for community use
• Preservation of a historic building belonging to Greenville’s farming heritage.
