The GBC is highlighting the following opportunities as priorities for much-needed volunteer help. If you wish to participate on one of these projects, please contact us.
Community service and scouting credits are available for students and scouts participating in these projects. Individuals and businesses participating in these projects will receive recognition on this site and in the local media.
Vanderbilt Park South Barn Renovation & Conversion
(A Community Partners Project)
Location: Vanderbilt Park
Description:
Renovation of South Barn involves light woodwork and painting to replace existing trim. Conversion of the East carriage extension of the barn into an open air pavilion involves removal of siding, removal of second floor, application of a new floor, and trimming of new openings.
Benefits:
• Creates a new shelter space for community use
• Preservation of a historic building belonging to Greenville’s farming heritage.
Vanderbilt Park Trail
(A Community Partners Project)
Location: Vanderbilt Park
Description:
Continued maintenance of our town's scenic walking trail. Involves brush clearing and surfacing.
Benefits:
• Promotes healthy walking in the community and an appreciation of our open spaces.
